چکیده
Benzodiazepine receptor agonists are widely prescribed therapeutic agents that alter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)A activity and have anxiolytic effects. Post-operative use of benzodiazepines is a risk factor delirium. Inflammatory conditions the effects benzodiazepine. We investigated effect diazepam, typical benzodiazepine anxiolytic, on changes in emotional behavior mice hole-board test after lipopolysaccharide (LPS) treatment. Diazepam dose-dependently increased number head-dips at doses did not locomotor activity; however, diazepam significantly decreased LPS-treated mice. Flumazenil, antagonist, normalized decrease head-dipping caused by treatment normal The was attenuated minocycline further found blocked bumetanide, Na+-K+-2Cl- cotransporter isoform 1 (NKCC1) These findings suggest induces anxiety-like under inflammation conditions, may cause GABAA dysfunction associated with chloride plasticity mediated NKCC1, which contributes to benzodiazepine-induced delirium surgery.

Objective(s): Curcumin, a plant alkaloid from Curcuma longa, possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Recently, the antidepressant activities of curcumin were reported. Nevertheless, bioavailability of curcumin limits its therapeutic utility. Nanotechnology is a developing field that potentially enhances bioavailability and the plasma concentration of curcumin. This study investiga...

Introduction: Sildenafil, a phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor, may have various effects on the central nervous system via the nitric oxide (NO)-cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) pathway. Preclinical studies have shown the controversial effect of sildenafil on anxiety-like behavior in animals. This study was undertaken to investigate the acute effect of sildenafil on anxiety-like behavior...

متن کاملProanthocyanidin prevents lipopolysaccharide-induced depressive-like behavior in mice via neuroinflammatory pathway
Recent studies have demonstrated neuroinflammation and increased cytokine levels are associated with depression. Aware of the efficacy the potential anti-inflammatory and antioxidative activity of proanthocyanidin, the present study was designed to investigate the effects of proanthocyanidin on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced depressive-like behavior in mice. In depressive behavior tests, the ...

In the NO-cGMP pathway, sildenafil modulates cognition, memory, reward-related stimuli, pain perception, seizure attack, n...
